Liquid Poly Gel™ – Versatile Gel Suspension Additive by Economy Polymers & Chemicals
Introducing Liquid Poly Gel™, a high-performance drilling fluid additive from Economy Polymers & Chemicals, engineered for optimal performance in shot hole, mineral exploration, and general-purpose drilling. This liquid suspension of high-swelling gel-forming materials is designed to mix easily with water, forming low-solids drilling fluids that deliver consistent results across a wide range of formations—from sticky clays to coarse gravel.
Liquid Poly Gel™ is a fast-mixing, easy-to-use alternative to conventional dry clays, offering superior fluid control and formation adaptability. Whether you’re drilling in fresh or salty water, Liquid Poly Gel provides the reliability and flexibility needed to keep your borehole clean, stable, and productive.
Key Benefits:
- Fast, Smooth Mixing: Outperforms conventional dry clays with quicker hydration and easier handling.
- Fresh or Salty Water Compatibility: Maintains performance in diverse water conditions without requiring special equipment.
- Low Water Loss: Enables drilling with less viscous fluids, conserving water and improving fluid efficiency.
- Hole Cleaning & Stability: Prevents wall packing, promotes gravel removal, and keeps the borehole open for shot charges and logging tools.
- Friction Reduction: Eases drilling through sticky clays, reducing drag and mechanical resistance.
- Convenient Packaging: Weatherproof one-gallon jugs are easy to carry, store, and use—minimizing waste and transport costs.
Application:
Liquid Poly Gel is suitable for use in virtually all types of formations. It can be poured directly into the suction or down the drill pipe, with maintenance doses added during connections. For tough gravel conditions, it can be combined with dry POLY GEL to enhance performance and prevent caving.
Recommended Dosages:
| System | Dosage/100 Gallons | Function |
| Clay | 1–2 pints | Slicks hole, prevents wall packing |
| Sand | 1–2 quarts | Cleans hole, saves water |
| Gravel | 2–4 quarts | Brings out gravel, keeps hole open |
For challenging gravel formations, mix 25 lbs of dry POLY GEL per 100 gallons of water, then add 1 quart of Liquid Poly Gel to enhance gravel transport and prevent caving.
Packaging:
Liquid Poly Gel is packaged in durable one-gallon plastic jugs, with four jugs per case, ensuring ease of handling and storage in the field.
